Media Ethical Conference in Mainz
At this meeting, there was a two-day conference (on the 25. and 26. January 2022) titled "New Digital World" on media ethics with lectures of Prof. Dr. Stefan Aufenanger, Prof. Dr. Hans Gießen und Prof. Dr. Andreas Büsch, and workshops given in both German and English. The 2 x 4 workshops in German and 2 x 2 workshops in English (each lasting 45 minutes) were offered simultaneously in both afternoons on topics: fake news, handling addiction to and time spent on digital devices, violence, and pornography on the internet, digital communication vs. face-to-face. Thus, the opportunity was given to all participants to take part in smaller groups of 10-15 participants for each topic.
Not only students and teachers of the participating schools were able to participate in person, but the conference was open to wide publicity, students, parents and teachers, and ongoing teachers from other schools in the region. It was prepared, announced, and advertised on posters, in flyers, and on the official websites of both organizations by the Catholic educational center of Erbacher Hof and Willigis Gymnasium in cooperation. Before the conference on the first day of the meeting, there were warm-up activities, school presentations and exchange in mixed groups about homeschooling experience, goasting and presenting virtual images on social platforms among the transnational participants. In the afternoon the transnational teachers met to share results in the process and to do further planning and evaluation of the project assignments while the students went on a city rally in Mainz to get to know our town.
Dissemination materials were offered on the content of lectures and presentations digitally and printed, also on the project platform of eTwinning and in the IThics project website.
On the last day of the meeting the transnational participants had a guided tour in the media printing museum and could join printing workshops at the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz. Also, an excursion to visit the Mainz 05 stadium was offered in the afternoon.
